Autoimmune Dis-ease: Myths and Truths

Hi!

I am so excited to share this Facebook Live and THESE POWERFUL PEARLS of functional medicine with you.  At SAFM we teach our students to be both confident and highly skilled at “puzzle piecing” and finding the interconnectedness between pieces of each patient’s unique case.

In this presentation, I’ll share a few staples but also some unexpected connections which might surprise you!

This family of diseases is very often triggered and exacerbated by chronic inflammation, especially by what is generated in the gut. Our immune system can end up in a chronic, misguided “alarm” state in response to something we are carrying around in our bodies. Find out about common triggers, and what other factors can be playing a role…

Although you may already be a savvy practitioner, I believe you will learn something new, that you can use right away in your practice.  Here are some of the things we’ll be discussing:

  • THE common threads holding autoimmune diseases together
  • Why a comprehensive stool test may Not be a good idea
  • Vitamin D: too much of a good thing?
  • Yes, FOOD is everything. And for more reasons than you may realize!
  • What happens in the gut doesn’t stay in the gut
  • The biochemical connection of Stress (can you explain it?)
  • The ongoing saga of missing body parts
  • Why we need to Stop saying that the body is attacking itself!

Thank you very much for joining in the fun and learning!

With warmth, love, and gratitude to you for sharing your gifts with so many –

Tracy, thank you for your continuous support in sharing so much information about our body and the facts that are needed to maintain God’s creation! In 2010 I had a cholecstectomy. I knew in my heart that this should not have been done. I am now suffering the consequences. I am now taking Ox Bile, and some additional supplements like Betaine HCl Pepsin Gentian Root Extract, etc. I now have an absorption problem and nutrients are not being absorbed. I have lost 24 lbs. and desperately trying to gain it back. Your monthly videos are giving me hope that someday I will be back to my weight of 124 lbs. Please keep sharing Tracy! I know that I will eventually be back to where I need to be, healthy!!

I think the most interesting thing is that there is a predictable receipe for the development of autoimmune disease. We can dismantle it and change out destiny!

Vitamin D can be an immune suppressant? I’ve never heard that before! Crazy! (Of course, I’m always learning!)

As always, your teaching style amazes me! I have a very dear friend that is struggling with an undiagnosed type of autoimmune disease and it is so frustrating to not be able to help her! She is a physician herself and has tried multiple treatments without much success. The information you provided about Vit D, Vit A, and magnesium is something that we haven’t considered with her condition! Will definitely be sharing this with her! I look forward to being able gain knowledge from you each and every video!! Thank you for the chance to learn from you!

Such helpful information, as always. Thank you, Tracy!
We have friends with autoimmune diseases and they don’t seem to think of them as reversible.
Also, knowing that people with autoimmune conditions are likely to have another one within 5 years
Should be incentive for them to make life changes.
Excited for this drawing! Thank you!!!

Wonderful explanation and breakdown on autoimmunity! You really know how to teach a complex system and make it understandable! Busting myths is so eye opening and makes so much since. You truly rock it everytime! I always walk away with more understanding and really enjoyed the Vit D section as there is confusion in that area and you make it so clear. Thank you!

I love learning the truth and science behind autoimmune disease. The copper and zinc information was fascinating and the part about too much Vitamin D effects on the body. Love learning all about the gut and how to really get to the bottom to help clients. Autoimmune is complicated and I love how you teachieve and apply the information in ways you can learn and during the live presentation when you say, “please write this down.” Helps to maintain all the great information.

Thank you for a very insightful presentation, Tracy!

I really enjoyed your comment, “the skin is a giant mouth!” and that we shouldn’t put on our skin what we aren’t willing to eat. This really hit home with me.

There were so many take away pearls, but this analogy was wonderful. Thanks so much!

I never thought about vitamin D being an immune system suppressant. Most people think more vitamin D is the way to go, but you are just masking the symptoms instead of getting down to the root cause. I love the common sense/reasoning that you are using about drugs saving a body part and why it is more important to get the person on a healing path first then worry about weening off the drugs.

Thanks Tracy for sharing the information about what we put on our skin and how it can really confuse our immune system! Also the way you put it into context about the immune system looking up as you intake certain foods was definitely a funny way to put it but such a true fact!!

Thank you for your presentations. My daughter has an autoimmune disease that is very painful and embarrassing for her and as a parent it is really hard to watch knowing that I can’t take that pain away from her so my only power here is through knowledge. You are giving me that so I thank you!
