“What I really want to know is how in the hell did my doctor miss that?”‏

One of the things our students are sometimes most shocked about is how often the clinical breakthrough that helps a patient or client to feel fantastic is actually quite simple. No extensive battery of tests required. No complicated work-ups.  No expensive supplements. Just a keen insight into each case and the right kind of know-how.

Today, I’m celebrating a breakthrough like this for a beloved client (Cheryl) who for the 1st time in 8 years is fully pain-free and not dependent at all on gabapentin (an anti-seizure drug that is also used for chronic nerve pain).

Cheryl was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy at age 52 and was immediately put on drugs which she estimates gave her ~75% pain relief.  But unfortunately the neuropathy symptoms gradually kept spreading throughout her body.  Of course, this makes sense to us.  The drug was a “band aid” to the symptom but wasn’t really addressing the root cause.

Neural transmission requires substantial levels of Vitamin B12.  By looking at everyday “annual physical” labwork, we quickly saw that Cheryl’s B12 was likely suboptimal. The drivers are unfortunately common:  insufficient stomach acid and ongoing use of the diabetes drug metformin (notorious for depleting B12).

Cheryl started a trial of 1000mcg methylcobalamin, and within 7 days, she had no pain. Inspired, she started to reduce her own medication.  And voila: still no pain. Now on no pain meds at all, Cheryl is wildly-satisfied. She’s already referred her best friend to me (“My friend says you are a magician!”  Haha).  And we’d only been working together 6 weeks.

Now we can get on to the main reason Cheryl sought my help: reversing her diabetes (and eliminating the need for the metformin, for full circle closure). Sometimes major relief is simple. The subject line of this email is a direct quote. Getting clients major relief quickly galvanizes their commitment to their larger journey and their faith in you.
