Leslie – Inspiring Clinical Success

Congratulations to Leslie, an AFMC-certified RN and Health Coach who is truly transforming the lives of women 40 and beyond – women who are overwhelmed by the demands of career, family, and everything in between. Leslie’s passion is empowering women to reclaim their health by uncovering the root causes of their struggles.

Watch as Leslie talks with Tracy Harrison about her work with a young professional mom – an ambitious physician starting her own business – who was battling bloating, migraines, anxiety, and was dependent on statins and anxiolytics. Sound familiar? For many practitioners, this is a story we hear all too often, especially from women navigating the perimenopausal transition.

But Leslie didn’t stop at addressing just the symptoms – she dug deeper. Instead of focusing solely on the bloating, migraines, and anxiety as isolated issues, she took a systemic, functional approach, uncovering the lifestyle stressors that were at the core of her client’s health challenges. Years of multifactorial, Type A-driven stress had left her client in a drained state, literally, with her adrenal profile showing notably low “flatline cortisol.”

But it wasn’t just about the physical. Her overall life system was creating a potent terrain for disease – and sustained sources of physiological stress too. By using a powerful visualization tool, Leslie guided her client through a self-reflection process that showed just how scattered and overwhelmed she was. When we finally step back and realize just how much our minds are consumed with external distractions, it brings rich awareness. We see just how little room we have left for self-regulation – let alone taking care of ourselves.

With Functional Medicine labs, this client also discovered she had a notable candida overgrowth (a common opportunistic dysbiosis), low secretory IgA (impaired intestinal immune function), and a concerning calprotectin level (a marker of gut inflammation). All of these pointed to the gut as a major contributor to her challenges – and an important place to begin, clinically. Through a comprehensive, functional approach, Leslie’s client experienced dramatic improvements, including the ability to discontinue all prescription medications.

Leslie’s story is a testament to the transformative power of well applied Functional Medicine. As she reflects, “Once I learned how to really use Functional Medicine, I was stunned that nobody knew about this.” Her physician client echoed this sentiment, saying, “I’m all in. Tell me everything.”

Leslie’s journey is one of deep connection, behavior change, and mindset shift. She’s passionate about building personalized roadmaps for her clients that last – roadmaps that focus not just on the body but also on the mind and spirit. If you’re ready to embrace this whole-person approach to healthcare, join Leslie in exploring the powerful potential of applied Functional Medicine. Your patients deserve THIS level of care – and so do you.
