Withdrawals/Refunds/Transfers
SAFM recognizes how important the decision to invest in continuing professional development is and strives to ensure Participants have the information necessary to enroll in SAFM with confidence. For those limited instances when an enrollment is not an appropriate fit, this policy provides the Participant with definitive guidelines for requesting a refund or withdrawal.
Participants enrolled in the SAFM Experience may withdraw in accordance with the following stipulations:
Withdrawal Options
- All withdrawal requests must be made by contacting SAFM’s Student Support and submitting a Withdrawal Request Form.
- All Participants warrant that by withdrawing, the Participant has not downloaded any content or material whatsoever (any class or format) for personal use or for sharing with others. The Participant’s legal right to use SAFM material for any purpose ceases, immediately, upon submission notification of the intent to withdraw.
- Once a withdrawal request is processed, Participant’s access to the Student Dashboard will be terminated at the end of the time period for which full payment has been received.
Early Withdrawal within 8 (eight) days of Level 1 Program Kick-off
- This option is available for newly enrolled students in the Level 1 Program of the SAFM Experience.
- Withdrawals must be received by 11:59 pm ET on day 8 (eight) of Level 1 program kick-off to receive a full refund.
- Withdrawn Participants who wish to enroll at a future date, must complete the enrollment process as a newly enrolled student. This includes meeting then-current eligibility requirements and a re-commitment to minimum 6 (six) months of Full Access Enrollment.
Withdrawal prior to 6 (six) months of Level 1 Program Kick-off
- After the 8 (eight) day withdrawal window, newly enrolled Participants must fulfill the remaining 6 (six) month minimum commitment to Full Access Enrollment.
- Under extenuating circumstances, if the agreement needs to be annulled during the 6 (six) month commitment term, an agreement annulment fee of $250 will apply. The Participant’s student access will remain until the end of the month for which full payment has been received. No refunds will be issued for any tuition payments made prior to the annulment option.
Withdrawal after fulfillment of 6 (six) month minimum commitment
- Participants may withdraw at any time after fulfilling the minimum 6 (six) month commitment to Full Access Enrollment.
- Alternatively students currently enrolled in Full Access Enrollment may choose to remain an active student via Basic Access Enrollment.
Refund Payments
Refunds shall be issued in United States Dollars to the payment method on file at the time the refund is processed by Purpose Inc. Purpose Inc shall not be liable for any foreign exchange rate differences between the tuition rate in USD and the refund amount.
Transfers
The Participant’s student enrollment may not be transferred to another person.
Basic Access Enrollment
Students who wish to remain Active and not Withdraw, may do so with Basic Access Enrollment. This status is suitable for students who wish to temporarily pause their progressive learning at SAFM, but still stay engaged.
This enrollment level provides continued access to curriculum content the student has already progressed through, continued access to the community, as well as limited access to some resources.
- Unlike Full Access Enrollment, Basic Access Enrollment does not enable students to progress through the SAFM Experience, or any levels of AFMC certification, nor give access to resources that support ongoing professional development and credential recertification.
- Basic Access Students who wish to resume Full Access Enrollment, may do so at any time and regain full access to resources, and the ability to progress through and engage in the full SAFM Experience.
Delivery and Access
The SAFM Experience is fully virtual. All required content and materials are accessible via the Student Dashboard. No hard copy materials (e.g., textbooks) are distributed. Login credentials required for access will be established by the Participant at the time of enrollment.
The Participant acknowledges and agrees that:
- The Participant has reliable access to the Internet for the purposes of engaging in the Program.
- The Participant is responsible for providing a current, accurate email address at the time of enrollment for the purposes of receiving SAFM communications. The Participant is responsible for confirming that SAFM emails are being received and for reporting email delivery issues to SAFM via designated support channels.
- Any stated Program component may not be available (or recorded) at various times due to poor network availability or stability or other constraints beyond SAFM’s immediate control. SAFM will make every effort to communicate technical issues in a timely manner.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
- Students may not use artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Notion AI, Otter.ai, Fireflies, or other transcription, summarization, or language models with any SAFM educational content.
- This includes uploading, sharing, summarizing, rephrasing, or transcribing any portion of SAFM’s proprietary materials, such as course modules, live class recordings, case discussions, AFMC exam materials, and Community Hub discussions.
- To ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and interactive quality of all live sessions delivered at the School of Applied Functional Medicine™ (SAFM), the use of AI-based note-taking tools or applications during live calls is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, software or platforms that record, transcribe, or analyze live conversations. Adherence ensures a shared focus and active participation in these valuable sessions.
- AI tools that retain, learn from, or store submitted content may compromise these safeguards. Use of such tools with SAFM material is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.
- Students may use AI tools only for personal study support: such as planning, organization, or researching general science (provided SAFM content is not uploaded or shared in any form).
This policy is in place to protect:
-
- Patient and peer privacy
- SAFM’s copyrighted intellectual property
- The integrity of your learning experience
