Post-COVID syndrome and Intra-COVID Leadership: Inspiration for Practitioners

Hi!

Although you may already be a savvy practitioner, I am certain you will learn something new in this video about Post-Covid Syndrome and Intra-Covid Leadership: Inspiration for Practitioners. You’ll walk away with pages of notes and practical pearls you can use in your practice right away.

Here are some of the things we’ll be discussing:

  • Potentially the most powerful pandemic revelations
  • The ragingly short-sighted risks in our reaction so far – and the response that’s most needed
  • Common post-viral challenges:  what research says and what to do
  • Why your leadership matters now more than ever
  • What patients need to hear – and this one’s gonna take some courage
  • Functional imbalances and vulnerability
  • The fundamental misconception being repeated over and over again

Thank you very much for joining in the fun and learning! Please share your thoughts (please be thorough) in the “Ask a Question” area below about what inspired you in this presentation! Include what type of practitioner you are, so that we can all see your unique perspective.

I was wondering if there are any new studies on how to best support a client post-vaccination? Many seem to be suffering from headaches, hair loss, and insomnia. I saw where you touched on insomnia and have been making recommendations accordingly. Also, What are your thoughts on adding in glutathione for support?

We need to remember that s vaccine is a challenge to the body asking it to react in a very specific way. If the body is well prepared it will likely not cause any issue and little or no adverse effects. However, if there is a brewing imbalance a vaccine can be a precipitating factor for dis-ease. Thus, along with the functional medicine approach, one would want to do a thorough health history and symptom assessment to get the full picture of potential triggers for each patient. Yes, glutathione support has been shown to be an important support for COVID patients. There are quite a few reviews published on this topic and here is one that may be of particular interest: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32780893/ In the same vein, since the new technology vaccines (both the mRNA-based and the adenovirus-based) induce an expression of the viral spike protein in the human cells, support for the optimal redox balance is key. The spike protein has been shown to induce oxidative stress on its own: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34208136/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34100279/ Optimizing glutathione function and methylation is likely key. The liposomal or s-acetyl glutathione 2-3x a day would be most helpful as these forms are easily taken up through… Read more »

Is there something you can suggest for the post covid “congestion”?

It can have different root causes for different people and therefore there is no one recommendation that will suit all. Certainly, exploring the references cited on this page and possible nutrient deficiencies commonly associated with COVID (B12, iron, zinc, vitamin D, melatonin) along with what other factors can be contributing to the insufficiency of these nutrients makes for a good starting point. Then the support for mucosal immunity can also help with clearing the lingering congestion.
