DisEase Does Begin in the Gut!

Yes, “dis-Ease” DOES almost always begin in the gut. Even in the case of neurological issues, think about gut health. This fascinating study looked at the (very positive) impact of probiotics on major depressive disorder. The vagus nerve likely plays a strong role here, connecting our enteric (gut) and central nervous systems. Plus, probiotics calm and balance the immune system, having a direct effect on inflammation. Excellent client fodder for educating them about the interconnectedness in the body. Indeed, depression is NOT a deficiency of antidepressants. Use functional medicine know-how. Get to the root cause. Enjoy!  http://www.nutritionjrnl.com/article/S0899-9007(15)00391-3/abstract?cc=y%3D
