Active medical and wellness professionals who meet SAFM’s eligibility requirements.

How long do practitioners remain students at SAFM?
You decide! Enrollment is for a minimum of 6 months. Many remain for 5+ years. Work at your own pace, applying and honing skills in Your practice. Typically, students study 8-12 hrs/week toward certification. Continuous learning and practice support can be career-long. Pause as needed with our Basic Access option.

What is the tuition?

Ignite Your Clinical Practice

Modular-based learning experience designed to help students put SAFM’s training into successful practice.

Two Modules: Managed Care, Entrepreneurial Care (One is required)

Practitioner Activator

Education, community, and mentoring (beyond the science) to support SAFM’s practitioners in being capable, confident, fulfilled practitioners using applied functional medicine in their ongoing clinical practices. Includes six elements:

  • Inner Foundations (Understand the deep-seated beliefs that drive actions and determine results)
  • Service Blueprint (Design your offerings tailored to your strengths and clients needs)
  • Internal Operations (Build the essential structural business components for a thriving practice)
  • Visibility and Voice (Ensure your presence is felt, and your message resonates with potential clients)
  • Collaborative Dynamics (Harness the synergy of teamwork and power of community to drive exceptional results)

Program Components

  • Anchoring Essentials Courses. Learn the fundamentals of functional medicine in a whole new way and be immersed in SAFM’s approach to root cause resolution.
  • Deep Dive Clinical Courses. Embrace these detailed dives into the unique function and interconnection of major body systems and the specific dynamics that create health vs. disease (and how to resolve the imbalances that create the latter).
  • Experiential Lab Testing. Explore course-aligned blood chemistry and functional medicine testing as a valuable input to a patient/client wellness plan.
  • Real-life, Complex Case Practice. Learn from many actual examples of new client intake, enrollment, assessment, and intervention planning (Puzzle Piecing Cases).  Practice applying your applied clinical savvy in real-time as Tracy Harrison coaches one of your peers through the detailed dynamics of a case (not a superficial overview but a rich 2+ hour exploration) in dozens of our Open Coaching Calls.
  • Examination. Choose from three exam cycles offered annually to evaluate progress. Test when you’re ready.
  • Ready-to-use content. Courses include convenient, curated research, clinical application guidance, and course content students can repurpose for use with their own patients/clients.
