Congratulations to SAFM student and AFMC-certified practitioner, Amina! We are celebrating her success helping a young woman struggling with many symptoms of hyperthyroid function, likely accompanied by high stress hormones.
This is a powerful case example of what is possible when you simply don’t have the option of getting deeper or more esoteric functional lab data. Or even more extensive blood labs. You can still make a powerful difference as a practitioner! This is an opportunity for a powerful perspective shift.
Based on her progress working with Amina over several months, this client’s thyroid labwork returned to a normal optimal level, and she experienced relief from nearly all of her hyperthyroid symptoms.
Check out this video for an inspirational case! So much of conventional medicine focuses on the goal of disease diagnosis, which is important as overt disease may need to be treated to protect the patient. But we can do so much more! Functional medicine emphasizes the power of identifying the actual dynamics at play and addressing the true root causes.
While it may seem counterintuitive (or heresy) from a conventional medical perspective, this woman didn’t need a formal diagnosis of Hyperthyroid or even Graves disease. Her suffering didn’t need a name. What she needed was a savvy partnership with a practitioner who was also an astute, effective coach skilled in using functional medicine know-how to educate, inspire, and empower her to find sustainable wellness.
A wildly satisfied client, indeed! This is one of a series of videos celebrating the success stories our students shared in their AFMC certification case studies. If you’re inspired, check out other success stories like Amanda and Diane and Thom.
Warmly,
P.S. If you are passionate about transforming healthcare through the power of functional medicine, we encourage you to learn more about SAFM’s practitioner training programs. Enrollment for our next cohort is now open!
