Each time I listen to you talk Tracy , there is always a few pearls of wisdom , this time there was am ocean of pearls 😂your energy and enthusiasm and attention to detail is totally inspiring so I’m going to keep my thoughts really simple for ease as your energy Is totally enthusiastic. I will be rewatching this so I can pull the threads together and make bullet points so that I can start to pull this together for my community which is one of the most under deprived areas in the UK / Europe . Listening to you talk today affirmed that I’m on the right track and now it’s looking at how to be as efficient and effective as possible , there are people in my community who are looking for change and have begun to come together, so that we can share ideas etc . I’m going to bring what I’ve learnt here to the table and then invite others to join me together we can move mountains.
Thank you Tracey, I am a RN and now newly qualified health coach working in a cardiology practice where the standard model of care is practiced. Every time I think I have made a small breakthrough, out comes the standard model of believing “the patients want an easy solution, they don’t want to change habits & lifestyle”. When are we going to see that on a patients prescription?
Dear Tracy,
Thank you for emphasizing the importance of:
EMBRACING THE COLLABORATION!
That is my focus right now! And I am loving all the
colors that we can add onto the healing process
by working together with different experts.
Thank you Tracy, for touching on the pain point of myself and many clients. I am a health coach and the idea of Group Coaching inspired me a great deal and in three ways:
1. Group coaching makes the work easier and helps us be more efficient. Rather than teach the same things to different people, I can do so in a group setting, saving more time and having a community where clients can be role models to one another. I can make my teachings into videos and repurpose to suit the need.
2. Multimodality collaboration is such a great idea as it will remove overwhelm. This is so huge.
3. The third point is one, I find truly powerful. In today’s world, where there is an increase in food and fuel prices, clients barely have disposable income to take care of themselves and work has become really slow. With group coaching, they are able to pay just about half the regular cost. This enables us {practitioners) to stay in business and still be able to help our clients. And yes, paying our SAFM school fees, comes easier. Group coaching, here I come… Woohoo!!
Tracy,
Thank you so much for your insights into ways to integrate FM into conventional managed care systems and why this is critical for transforming health care and helping our patients be/stay well. Thank you for reinforcing the importance of setting boundaries and also helping me to see that you can be successful without giving up everything that you have built prior to seeing the light through FM lens.
Practitioner clarification questions are welcome! Please do not post personal case inquiries.
Hi Tracy!
This couldn’t come at a better time for me! I am a certified practitioner (IFMCP) that is a pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy in upstate New York. I got certified during covid, and my goal was always to see patients in groups after learning at IFM from Terry Wahls. Covid put a halt to my plans since anything in groups was difficult and not really accepted at it’s peak. I felt that many of the patients I see weren’t as open to learning by zoom, and I enjoy the in-person connection much more as well. Today I am posting on our pharmacy’s facebook page that I am going to begin group consultations! I haven’t figured out exactly how I’m going to do this yet, but I am taking a leap of faith inspired by you!
Thanks for all you do!
