Post-COVID syndrome and Intra-COVID Leadership: Inspiration for Practitioners

Hi!

Although you may already be a savvy practitioner, I am certain you will learn something new in this video about Post-Covid Syndrome and Intra-Covid Leadership: Inspiration for Practitioners. You’ll walk away with pages of notes and practical pearls you can use in your practice right away.

Here are some of the things we’ll be discussing:

  • Potentially the most powerful pandemic revelations
  • The ragingly short-sighted risks in our reaction so far – and the response that’s most needed
  • Common post-viral challenges:  what research says and what to do
  • Why your leadership matters now more than ever
  • What patients need to hear – and this one’s gonna take some courage
  • Functional imbalances and vulnerability
  • The fundamental misconception being repeated over and over again

Thank you very much for joining in the fun and learning! Please share your thoughts (please be thorough) in the “Ask a Question” area below about what inspired you in this presentation! Include what type of practitioner you are, so that we can all see your unique perspective.

Thank you so much Tracy for inspiring educating and empowering!! I love you!! I love the passion I love how you speak your heart I love your dedication!! I love the comparison of people showing up at the battlefield with lack of resilient health and vitality. Thank you for all the pearls!! Extremely motivated to rise stretch and reach.

As always Tracy, great presentation on a very timely subject. The best pearl from today is supporting/regulating the immune system with vitamin A, D, zinc and sleep! How basic it should be to get plenty of rest especially when you are ill, but in our fast paced world, we don’t rest and allow the body to do its job. Looking forward to more education on this subject. 🙂

A very dynamic presentation! Thank you. All of it was a big take away for me, and I couldn’t agree more with what was said. I loved…”The bigger question regarding Covid is, what do we do to create resilience, health and vitality, so our physiology is resilient in the face of viral challenges?”

It is the health of the host ;). Thanks Tracy!

Wow! Thank you Tracy very well said with your typical passion and dedication to teach and inspire. I have 2 Covid patients right now and they both have socioeconomic challenges that I am spending lots of effort to get them disability financial support. That point in your talk about socioeconomic dessimmation has inspired me to call the state office again tomorrow. Keep on fighting and supporting our patients.

I’m an NP. Loved hearing about post covid chain of events. So many pearls to choose from. Didn’t know about vitamin A, all the benefits of zinc, and especially your analogy of the battlefield in fighting covid. I’ll be sure to use it with my patients!! Thank you.

Wonderful deep dive that deserves another listen! I love the rain and nature analogy. So many pearls! Where I must start with my clients is addressing the heightened sympathetic state. Tracy highlights the downstream disregulation of so many processes due to this! This leaves us vulnerable to not just covid but many viruses and contributors to dis-ease. Thank you for this valuable talk!

Wow! Such key points Tracy. What stood out for me was the post-battle damage that has yet to heal or be fixed. I never thought of that. My mother in law had COVID and is now going through this. She is probably needing to heal oxidative stress wounds, increasing glutathione intracellularly and this video is perfect for me to help her work on resiliency, thank you.

I truly appreciated your call for leadership especially in the functional medicine community. The fact that we have the knowledge and the practical know- how to approach many of the symptoms and the underlying causes of post Covid.

I started core 101 at SAFM in March 2020 with a webinar on viruses and that set the tone for all the talks on prevention I would have with all my clients. As a health coach it was incredible to be empowered with this knowledge and perspective and really helped me navigate the pandemic myself and my family. This session really brings everything I learned then to full circle. I feel very lucky to be a part of SAFM where I’m constantly learning, being encouraged and empowered with the truth. The pearls here are amazing and have made their way into my notes already and I’m so glad that I’ll be able to serve my clients even better with this knowledge. Thank you Tracy

Tracy you were ON FIRE today! Thank you so much for this inspirational webinar full of such useful information. I feel ready to support clients with understanding Covid and I am so grateful for all you teach us! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Oh my, what a Live. Gotta love Tracy on fire. I’m not sure that the power of controlling the stress response can be overstated. For me the mountain analogy was perfection.

Thank you for such a timely and relevant message! There was so much to unpack and take away. I particularly found interesting the role of Interleukin 6 in increasing blood brain barrier permeability and also up-regulation of hepcidin which can impair iron absorption. Thank you for another enlightening, educational, and inspiring discussion!

Thank you for your great insight! As a physical therapist, I have read my colleagues concerns of post covid symptoms where they are helping people not only with stamina and strength but to re-wire the neuromuscular system to perform functional tasks again, such as walking… Therefore , I found this information about factors that increase the blood brain barrier to be particularly fascinating. That interluekin 6 naturally does this due to a highly inflammatory nature as well as the quinolate pathways being another toxic source to the BBB. Bringing in the key nutrients and supplements for the individual to offset this potential makes a lot of sense ( help the immune system with Vit D, Vit A, Zn ( when sick often get naturally elevation of Copper so skews this Copper/zinc balance), antioxidative assistance with Glutathione, Vit C. The importance of sleep, parasympathetic activities during stressful times… Personally, I relate to losing jobs as both my husband and I lost ours with COVID (now we both have start up businesses!). I also want a supportive work environment for individuals , communities and society while safeguarded those at greater risk. Thanks for your passion and drive to bring good to the… Read more »

What a powerful Webinar! Sorry for your loss….you inspired me every webinar. I love the mountain analogy & because of the virus, tryptophan is pulled away from making serotonin to increase macrophage strength. This in turn depletes serotonin which can deplete melatonin that can cause poor sleep. I will read further into understanding this dynamic more. Thank you for your generous teaching. Sending love & prayers to you & your family…

Great learning from Tracy!
Need good deep sleep post covid. Melatonin and L tryptophan should help.
Sad that cause of death is covid for the money!

Bonnie Berke

Thank you for your leadership and particularly passionate purposeful information.
My take away was the Breakdown in the barrier function of the BBB in the gut and the brain. Looking at methylation issues involving glutathione and NAC as well as the dramatic oxidative effects of post covid syndrome are key pearls as well.
We need to build our stress resilience now so we can deal with the mental wellness pandemic now and in the future. Preparedness and consistent self care is what the body needs so we can be in our parasympathetic nervous system modes more than our sympathetic modes.
Self care and responsibility for our health will be sustainable over the long haul in protecting our innate and adaptive immune systems.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights in this very powerful message. Your passion and commitment were clearly evidence and thank you for talking about the “elephant in the room”. This is such a great opportunity to for Functional Medicine to shine and provide support in patient care. The tools are plentiful and as you stated, we have opportunity as well as obligation. I especially appreciate your insights regarding secretory IgA and the benefits of S. Boullardi. Cheers to a future of resilient vitality!

Thank you Tracy for this information. Very interesting about calcium and mucosal health. I was wondering if you read the article about the microbiome and covid recently published in GUT. The gut is so amazing!

Very amazing webinar today! I enjoyed the comparisons to being on a battle field and what is left as the virus is being killed by our immune system. I learned much more about how the recommended vitamins and supplements like glutathione help us when fighting from the beginning. I would like to know more about interleukin (spelling?) 6 and how it will lock down iron? Again thank you so much for today’s pearls that we can share with our clients.

Tracy presents fascinating post-COVID syndrome information. She was able to identify how maintaining optimal zinc, vitamin D, magnesium, copper, and vitamin A is essential to maintain healthy immunity. I learn something new today. To always start slow with vitamin D to allow receptors adjustment before increasing it up.
