One of the things that I love being reminded of is that we are not what we eat, we are what eat, digest, absorb, and get into our cells! I work as a nurse practitioner, and trying to convince patients to eat healthy is a struggle. It helps so much when I can explain to them about the toxins in foods and how that affects their guts, leading to inflammation and stress, and then a lack of nutrients that their bodies need to function. Thanks for all the great information and reminders!!

As always, I loved your awesome, facebook live! You mentioned how our bodies are not going to perform parasympathetic functions when we are in a sympathetic state! I gave up my Fitbit for that very reason. I was entering weekend warrior competitions and competing with my friends to get the maximum amount of steps possible! It can be a great tool but can also become a big stressor! I have slept so much better than when I was constantly checking my deep sleep on my Fitbit every day!

SO Enjoyed this FB live – wow! Just starting as a health coach and this is invaluable. I’ll definitely be taking some Deep Dive courses! I got so many amazing pearls but I particicularly enjoyed the bits about the importance of addressing the sympathetic nervous system – it’s so easy and common to pass this off as inconsequential but it is such an important key to wellness. I just started working with a client who has sleep apnea and would LOVE more information on working with that – he needs to lose about 40 pounds and I’m guessing that alone would be very helpful??

Thank you for a wonderful Facebook live today. I so love the concept of maximize, minimize, and prioritize an environment for healing. Very clearly put and powerful information. Thank you!

Thank you for the great discussion today. The one thing that I like the most was when you said our thought processes directly cause a biochemical reaction in our body. Working with the cancer patient, I believe this wholeheartedly that you can have two different outcomes just based on your thought process.

    Cindy says:

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, energy and education. So very great as always! Loved loved loved you sharing this with so many.

I am a Core 101 student (January 2019) and loved you sharing so many pearls and wonderful ways of explaining to clients today. If I were to have to prioritise my pearls (even though I’d much rather maximise them than minimise them to a succinct statement 😉 ) my key take always would be to eat nutrients, not calories. And that when you feel sick, it’s not because your body is vulnerable. It is actually because your immune system is strong and effective and is working on your behalf to fight an infection, a pathogen or a fungal overgrowth. We should find the balance between occasionally allowing the body to get sick and fight something and taking good care of ourselves and allowing the immune system to do its job. Once again, thanks heaps for being so wonderful!

    Love and light, Cindy

    Annette Falconett says:

I absolutely loved “nutrient impairments matter”. This is so true and you said it very well. It is such a simple concept and it gets ignored all the time.

    Thank you for sharing!

    Dawn Schmidt says:

The most inspiring part of Tracy’s Facebook Live talk was that we have to prioritize an environment for healing. Her knowledge about the benefits of managing stress & getting enough sleep would help us to stop being at war with our body.

    Dayna Blaha says:

Amazing teaching! Love your passion for wellness! My husband is experiencing sleep apnea and loved your comments about digger deeper instead of skimming the surface to find true root causes. I don’t want to just give him a Bandaid but help him discover what’s at the root!

    Linda Delmore says:

Tracy, thank you again for sharing you knowledge with us. I love the five things to minimize to prevent dis-ease. I always walk away with good information that I may use right away.

    Mary J says:

You truly are a gifted teacher! I loved the part where you said, when was the last time you went for a walk! Not a jog, not a run, not to lose fat!!!! Or burn bloody calories:) just a walk!?

  16. 65
    Sandy Anderson says:

Thank you for the wonderful info Tracy! I appreciate your frequent reminders that there are very few true root causes of disease and to keep looking upstream. Your mention of being aware that sleep apnea doesn’t always have obvious symptoms (e.g., snoring, awakenings with a gasp) and is worthy of consideration in clients that wake up in the morning feeling like they haven’t slept–this not only reconfirms the impact & importance of foundational wellness items, but your sleep apnea mention is a good example of digging deeper with clients rather than skimming the surface of foundational wellness components.

    Joanna says:

Thank you for being so generous with your insight and expertise and for creating this community of helpers and healers! I loved today’s FB Live, and was especially grateful for your reminder that our beliefs actually impact our internal biochemistry – such a powerful tool at our disposal! I also loved your explanation about the early stages of metabolic dysfunction (the PRE-pre-diabetes part even before HbA1c levels fall outside of the acceptable range) and how that’s connected to the daily (habitual) choices we make.
So much gratitude to learn within this community of diverse practitioners!

    Lena Morgan says:

I absolutely loved the information in this video and your enthusiasm for the genius of the human body to know how to heal if we would only pay attention to those five things that can interfere. If we give it what it needs our body will serve us well. The biggest thing for me is the importance of recognizing trauma and supporting the person through that. Doing so is important in the prevention of negative thought processes that affect genetic expression. Having dealt with each one of these on a personal level in my own family I believe the trauma portion is most likely the biggest of them all as the other four have the ability to be perceived as traumatic if the event is “big enough”. Mold exposure forcing us out of our home for several months is one example. Thank you for making these videos available!

    Dr. Rick says:

First, thank you for putting these on. You are a gifted teacher. I only caught parts of the talk as I was listening between patients :). I enjoyed the Sympathetic/Parasympathetic discussion. I feel that autonomic balance needs to be addressed with every patient.
    Thanks again!!

    Júlia LC van Opzeeland says:

As always, thanks for another amazing live talk! What I loved about today was to remember the basic: what can we maximize, minimize and prioritize for healing the client’s unique body. Remembering that an environment for healing is where the functional medicine will make the difference, once a client changes his life style and starts managing stress, how he feels and reacts, this is when the true healing starts. Such a great concept. Simple and yet complex.
