Autoimmune Dis-ease: Myths and Truths

Hi!

I am so excited to share this Facebook Live and THESE POWERFUL PEARLS of functional medicine with you.  At SAFM we teach our students to be both confident and highly skilled at “puzzle piecing” and finding the interconnectedness between pieces of each patient’s unique case.

In this presentation, I’ll share a few staples but also some unexpected connections which might surprise you!

This family of diseases is very often triggered and exacerbated by chronic inflammation, especially by what is generated in the gut. Our immune system can end up in a chronic, misguided “alarm” state in response to something we are carrying around in our bodies. Find out about common triggers, and what other factors can be playing a role…

Although you may already be a savvy practitioner, I believe you will learn something new, that you can use right away in your practice.  Here are some of the things we’ll be discussing:

  • THE common threads holding autoimmune diseases together
  • Why a comprehensive stool test may Not be a good idea
  • Vitamin D: too much of a good thing?
  • Yes, FOOD is everything. And for more reasons than you may realize!
  • What happens in the gut doesn’t stay in the gut
  • The biochemical connection of Stress (can you explain it?)
  • The ongoing saga of missing body parts
  • Why we need to Stop saying that the body is attacking itself!

Thank you very much for joining in the fun and learning!

With warmth, love, and gratitude to you for sharing your gifts with so many –

This was a great intro and very informative session on sit immune conditions. As a PT who witnesses the deterioration and poor life quality of patients being treated with Conventional therapies only, I understand the significance of treating the gut in order to have an effect on the immune system. I found it very interesting when you mentioned that infectious disease or bacterial overgrowth is often a trigger. I also found it interesting that Vitsmin D is immunosuppressive in high doses. Looking forward to learning more.

Thank you for sharing this knowledge!

    Mary

Another great webinar! I was very intrigued by the gallbladder connection to IBS/SIBO issues. I knew that low hydrochloric acid was affecting people’s digestion, but the gallbladder connection was something really made so much sense. Thank you again for sharing your wisdom!

Tracy, I love your analogies, your skin is your mouth, so true. Thank you so much for sharing again and again, I am so grateful of your shares. The way you explained the disease of the immune system and how the thyroid or joints or brain are the victims of the crime. And to deal with the criminal (root cause) first. Fantastic information.

    Kelly Kolodzinski says:

I LOVED this talk with the pearls of wisdom. Working with clients on auto-immune is part of my specialty after having dealt with it myself. It hit home for me that what we do to ourself is what causes this reaction — not a failure in our body. That’s something really important to make clear to our clients. I also find the confusion of our body an important point AND removing ALL grains, including non-gluten grains. I want to learn more! Thank you!!

This was the BEST session that I’ve seen so far! I’m still very new at this so I have trouble getting the words out to explain what I know (so far) to others. It’s such a deep topic that it seems impossible to explain it concisely, but this had me so excited about how concise it was. I’m in the baby steps of online coaching and hope to attend your school someday soon. I have so much to learn. My favorite part was how you mentioned the way the skin is like a mouth. These weekly webinars are always packed with great info, but this one was my favorite. Thanks again for all you share!

It’s always great to have a reminder that vitamin and mineral supplements have impact on many body systems and balances, and it’s important to teach our clients how to use them wisely, have awareness and track and report their experiences. I see many people on loads of supplements and they don’t understand why they are taking them. Thank you Tracy for your continued wisdom XXOO

The only power I feel like I have is knowledge so that I can share with her and hope that she takes and utilizes that information. Thank you for helping me to learn and understand!

This topic is close to my heart for having Multiple Sclerosis for myself. I try to follow natural route but still on DMDs and always feel guilty about it, and wanted to get rid of it asap. But because of some unavoidable stressful things for having a disabled child , I was afraid of staying away from DMDs for now. But Tracy you made me feel confident again, when you said that for short time they are important to calm your immune system down and protect your organs. Even for zonulin, I did not knew that our own body produces it in times of crisis. Oh my, you encouraging me to stop eating gluten cold turkey, which i have not done yet completely. I even knew importance of Vitamin D, but today only I learned that it works as immunosuppressant. That’s really interesting to know. And even connection between copper and estrogen new to me. Wow!! so much I learned today. Thank you so much Tracy for picking up this topic and giving so much valuable information. Tracy, you are amazing!!!
