True Health or Not True Health

I am so excited to share this Facebook Live with you. All current practitioners – both newcomers and veterans to functional medicine science – are welcome. I bring you fresh knowledge and insight into the functional medicine interconnectedness at play with some fascinating case examples of the (often huge) difference between treating disease and reversing root causes.

At SAFM we teach our students to be both confident and highly skilled at “puzzle piecing” and finding the interconnectedness between the pieces of each patient’s unique case. This approach makes all the difference in the world in your business. Because here’s a truth you need to hear: Absence of symptoms and true health are NOT the same thing. We’ve got to be willing to dive into the detailed and unique interconnectedness for each person.

Although you may already be a savvy practitioner, I believe you will learn something new, that you can use right away in your practice.  Here are some of the things I discuss in this video:
  • The fundamental flaw that prevents conventional medicine from being effective in reversing chronic disease
  • The common mistake many practitioners make in looking for Root Causes of dis-ease (are you doing it too?)
  • Unexpected connections in hypertension: the common remedy worsens the very thing it’s supposed to be helping (this one will definitely surprise you)
  • Common conventional rapid relief intervention can even be life-threatening
  • A classic heart disease intervention actually increasing the risk of a tragic cardiovascular event
  • The most important true root causes of dis-ease that are missed – every single day! – by even savvy practitioners

Thank you very much for joining in on the fun and learning!

With warmth, love, and gratitude to you for sharing your gifts with so many,

YES to this: When at a doctor’s office, a patient’s intuition may be the wisest thing in the room. Wonderful to hear a medical practitioner speak this way! Love love love. Thank you so much for making this recording available to us, was not able to get on the LIVE event. Will continue following you on FB, such great info. Thanks for all that you do!!!

Thank you for the clinical pearls, it was very informative.
The new thing for me was the connection between beta blockers and melatonin production and therefore insomnia as a result of long term use of this particular medication.

I will also keep in mind an importance of asking about medications that were taken in a past two years or so.
Thank you again.

I enjoyed this presentation very much. Thank You! I didn’t know that beta blockers interfered with melatonin levels and thereby contributed to insomnia. I will be looking for this problem in my practice! Thank you!

As always great information. I love listening to you! Your knowledge base and in depth explanation always reveals something new to me.l that I can utilize with my clients. I don’t know that one could ever know everything about the interconnectedness of body systems.

Loved this one! So many pearls that resonate. I Lol’d with the mention of the body saying… c’mon I have 1’000 human functions to do while you’re asleep! Let’s go to bed!

I am beyond thrilled to have found your school! I am a nurse practitioner and have been completely blown away with how much sense functional medicine makes!! I recently found the courage to leave an unhealthy situation and am in the processes of rebuilding. My boys and I are safe and healing. I have the passion for functional medicine now i need more knowledge! This opportunity for a free semester would be amazing!!

Wow! I have been watching your videos for almost a year now, and I’m always amazed! Amazed at not only your depth of knowledge, but also impressed by your ease of delivery, passion and presentation style. I am already enrolled for the CORE 101 September course and am extremely excited to continue my journey! Currently, I am currently reading Jeffrey Bland’s “the Disease Delusion” and LOVE how everything is connected! I’d love the opportunity to win a free semester! Thank you Tracy!

Always such great information and yet another video I need to watch over and over to lock in the learning pearls. Thank you Tracy. xo

I love these pearls of wisdom!! We aren’t really taught to think about previous medications taken by patients. That pearl was like a light bulb going off! Things manifest and create disturbances on so many different levels. We are all truly so different and what may cause a problem for one right away may show up much later or not at all for another. So it does make sense when digging for the root cause you would think back to any exposures he patient may have had. We commonly look and review current medical histories for treatment. I look forward to being able to educate and help patients heal themselves. I want to learn the body chemistry and systems in such a way that it becomes natural in talking and teaching about them.

Thank you, Tracy! I make it a point to watch all of your LIVEs, and I’m so appreciative of your passion and wisdom. My mom passed away in November (we didn’t even know anything was acutely wrong), and there is so much I would have liked known/done (through functional medicine/nutrition) for her before her situation became acute. Today, I appreciated the information on diuretics, kidneys, and adrenal glands. Also, enjoyed the explanation about the NSAIDS and breaking down the gut lining. I also love how you differentiate between triage and getting to the root cause. Thank you!

I’m new to functional medicine, so I love these videos and always learn so much. I never knew the specific connection between beta blockers and melatonin.

The pearls of wisdom are amazing! I realized that asking patients about medications taken for past two years is something that is so critical. They only teach reviewing medical histories for current meds but it makes total common sense! I want to be able to understand the body chemistry as you do and be able to teach my patients how to help themselves! What an amazing gift to be able to help people that suffer so much and be able to teach people how to prevent the imbalances that cause disease! Thank you so much for these bursts of knowledge and awakening to what’s really possible in guiding people back to health (myself included).

Great info! I could listen to you all day! I really liked the analogy of repairing a car with the stellar toolkit for your bicycle. I’m going to use that!
Thank you so much. 🙂 I’m just going to absorb all the information for now, so I don’t really have a question. Just wanted to put my two-cents in!
